Brief Description:  Covers and brake lines

Today was focused primarily on getting the covers to fit properly over the cockpit tunnel and fuel selector enclosure. Due to some minor interference with the fuel line from the selector to the filter, I needed to trim a bit of the cover away. As luck would have it, I trimmed a little too much and had to spend quite a bit of time working on the fix, which involved riveting another piece of metal over the opening.

I wasn't completely satisfied with the repair, so I'll probably try something a little different tomorrow to make it look a bit better.

Moving on, I pulled the fuel pump brackets out and drilled holes to allow the brake lines to run through. This took a little while because of the thickness of the metal and the fact that the snap bushings didn't fit quite right. A bit of trimming with a razor blade and then cleaning and priming finished the brackets. Finally I made the initial run with the tubing—I will spend some time tomorrow bending it to ensure there is no interference and then flare the ends.
