Brief Description:  Completed F-705 bulkhead

Had a rare day to myself, so I took full advantage of it! I started off by drilling the two angle brackets that form the back of the seat adjust assembly. Once this was finished, I removed all of the blue plastic and worked all edges and deburred all holes. After the necessary sanding, cleaning, and final cleaning with solvent, I set up a very simple spray booth in the garage. The temperature in the garage was down around 40 deg. so I used a space heater to get the room warmed up. Even though I did that, I still wasn't very pleased with this particular priming effort...I don't know if it was the cold, the less than optimum light, a slightly clogged spray gun, or a combination of these, but I've done better...

After finishing all of this, I re-studied the plans to make sure I didn't put rivets in holes intended to be left open for seat ribs, then started riveting. I used the pnuematic squeezer, as well as the Tatco, and got everything done fairly quickly. The longer I work on this project, the more picky I get...I wasn't particularly pleased with the fit of the seat adjust assembly, but once it was riveted in place, I decided I would live with it. It's not a structural issue, it's a cosmetic issue...but I think I can do better!!
