Brief Description: Firewall and fuselage center section
Today was a bit out of sequence--I started by working on the wing center section because I didn't want to fire up the compressor and rivet too early in the morning. The wing center section is a very large and fairly complicated piece of the aircraft, so there was much plan studying involved to ensure there were no mistakes made. During the session I fabricated two web stiffeners, as well as working on the F-782 and F-783 cover support ribs. This required drilling out various holes and the routine edge working and sanding prior to priming. Following this, I set the center section aside and finished the firewall.
Just when you think things are getting easy...the firewall was fairly straightforward, but it did require using a number of different rivets and rivet sets, so the changes and plans studying took up a fair amount of time. For some reason, I ended up drilling out more rivets than usual, but in the end, the firewall was finished. Oh...stainless steel dents very easily...
