Brief Description:  Aileron/flap rigging and lower skin prep

A lot accomplished today. I started by fitting and drilling the right flap hinge to the flap attachment bracket. In order to ensure I had the flap positioned properly, I first fitted the aileron and fixed it in position, then adjusted the flap so the trailing edge was aligned. After doing this, I checked the hinge position to ensure that I would have the appropriate (minimum) edge distance when drilled. All looked good, so out with the #40 bit and drilling commenced. I clecoed as I went along, and in fairly short order the job was done and the flap looked like it was in perfect position...the picture below confirms the fit was pretty good, with about a 1/4 inch gap.

Following this, I started on the left aileron attachment and pretty much duplicated the right side work. No major issues on the left wing and the gap between aileron and flap was about 3/16. I will have to check to make sure that there is no interference between the flaps and aileron attach bolts, but so far, so good.

The last thing I worked on was the lower wing skins. Those things have been kicking around the shop for the last two years, and I have really wanted to at least get them dimpled and clecoed in place to get them out of the way. By the time I finished, I had three of four done and only lack the lower, outboard right skin.
