Brief Description:  Aileron fittings

Today I finished the aileron pushrods and began looking for a way to make a jig to drill the steel tubes when they arrive from Van's. One of the tasks that the builder must do is to drill out the brass bushings to 1/4"...my question is this--if Van's is going to drill them out to 3/16", why not just do it to 1/4" and keep the builder from having to do this step? Guess it's an important part of the 51% required?!? Lots of Boehlube and patienc and the bushings were drilled.

As I looked through my pile of scrap aluminum, I came across a fuel tank Z-bracket that I had drilled incorrectly. As fortune would have it, this bracket was perfect for making a jig, as it was the exact same size as the tube, and it already had a single hole drilled in the center of the piece. I will work on fitting the aileron bellcranks while waiting for the replacement parts.
