No actual work on the aircraft today, instead I spent a couple of hours working on a spray booth for the cowling. I have worked all of this time without any type of control over my painting conditions, but the amount of primer that the cowling will require made me think that some type of more formal system was in order. PVC and 3 mil plastic serve as the primary components, and I will add a simple filtration system to complete the setup. My plan is to use Stewart Systems water based primer, so I don’t have the worry of spraying toxic (and explosive) substances, which makes the whole thing a lot easier. There is still a lot of work to do, but I think the booth will serve me well for the balance of the priming requirements.
