Brief Description:  Brake lines

This particular session was focused on final installing the brake lines. I started by getting the rudder pedals in place, followed by reattaching all of the lines from the pedals to the respective fittings. Once in place and tightened securely, I move out to the main gear where I worked on initial fitting of the lines to the brakes themselves. The plans from Van’s call out the use of aluminum tubing for this, but I had heard enough stories about cracks developing that I had purchased steel lines from TS Flightlines. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out the proper orientation, as one end is a 90 degree fitting and the other is straight, but after clocking the fuselage fittings appropriately, it all made pretty good sense.

The lines were simply secured with colored zip ties (my clue that the installation is only temporary) and next session will be to fill the brake reservoir with fluid, check for leaks, and then do the final install on the gear legs.
