Brief Description:  Cabin heat cable installation

In the process of putting everything back together and getting ready to paint the panel, I needed to decide how to install the cabin heat cable. I’m hoping to minimize the need for a bunch of sub panels with various knobs and switches, but real estate on the main panel is pretty tight, so I looked things over and decided the best place for the heat knob was on the far right side of the panel, just to the left of the vent. After figuring out that I could easily reach it when I was solo, I drilled a 3/16” hole and then routed the cable back through the sub panel (enlarging an existing tooling hole a bit) and then down along the firewall to the cabin heat exchange box.

The cable itself was about 15” too long, but these cables are easily trimmed with a hacksaw or Dremel tool, so I double checked the measurements and whacked it off. I won’t actually install the assembly until the panel is painted, but everything fit fine, so I moved on to other things.
