Brief Description:  Aft fuselage riveting & fuel system

This morning was the long awaited aft skin riveting session. I started by getting things ready to go by marking all of the rivet lines with the proper size rivets, and pre-loading about every other one to speed the process. I had brought some blankets and a long board from the house to help make a platform to lay on, and after putting those into the fuselage, I finished up the preparation by putting the tail stand and a couple of saw horses under the fuselage for support.

Ross got the rivet gun, I got the bucking bars, and then climbed into the aft fuselage to get going. The process went pretty quickly and we shot all of the rivets in about three hours...drilling out and reshooting a couple of bad ones that I had set last week during my solo session. It really looks good and I'm glad to have this part done!

After the riveting, I went back to plumbing the fuel system, working on the right side by removing the previous attempt and reinstalling the tank-to-union run. Practice makes, well...not perfect...but better, and when I left, the only thing remaining was the short run from the fuel selector to the pump. Should be simple...
