Brief Description:  Misc wiring

Two sessions today, both devoted to running wires and cables through the spar to determine the best routing and to ensure that I have thought of everything before I start finishing up the wire bundles.

The first task was to add a wire to the pitch servo bundle, as that bundle has eight, rather than the seven included in the pre-twisted bundle shipped from Steinair. Easy enough, but first…how long should that bundle be? The challenge is that I ordered enough for the roll and pitch, but I have to cut it somewhere…and imagine cutting one side just a little too short. You can’t stretch wire.

With that, I got down on the floor and started running the wire through the wing. After I got the wire into the fuselage, I had to trim the conduit at the wing/fuselage junction, and then make the turn through the outboard spar penetration and then along the forward spar to the center tunnel. After tie wrapping it to the existing bundle, I ensured that I had enough…with a little extra…and then measured everything again before making the big cut. Turns out that for once I had ordered enough. I then ran the pitch servo wires before turning to the RG-400 for all of the antennas.
