Brief Description:  Wire bundle organization

Nice morning to work on the electrical system—a gentle rain was falling outside…and inside…going to have to get that leak fixed. More electrical work today, mostly just organizing the multitude of wires running everywhere. I did finalize my location for the hot battery bus and main fuse block—both on the forward side of the subpanel to allow relatively easy access in the event of a fuse replacement opportunity. After that it was dozens of zip ties, moving and combining wire bundles, and strategizing on how to make this all work so that when I rivet the top skins on I don’t say “Doh!!!”.

I did find a second bad crimp on a ground wire in the bundle that Steinair made for me. This was a little disconcerting because grounding issues can be really tough to figure out. I guess if even the pros get it wrong, I need to be doubly diligent in my wiring techniques. Finally, I ran the GMU 22 wire bundle down the center tunnel, through the spar and back to the aft fuselage. There were a few tense moments when I thought it wasn’t going to be long enough, but it turns out that I had at least a foot to spare…good news!
