Brief Description:  Prop governor and bypass air

When I left last session, I was concerned that my plan to insert the prop governor attach bolt was not going to work due to some interference with a protruding screw. I arrived today determined to go back and install the bolt per the plans by removing the screw holding the control arm in place, pulling the arm out just enough to slip the bolt in, and reattaching the screw and safety wire. As usual, the hardest part was getting the safety wire done--especially since it was very hard to access on the back of the governor, but I got it done. Much happier with this solution.

I then turned my attention to the snorkel bypass air. In the event of a total blockage of the air filter (ice encounter), there is a door on the side of the box that may be opened in order to provide alternate air flow. This door is installed by cutting a hole in the side of the box, attaching a steel assembly, and then filling the voids with epoxy paste.

The pictures show the steps about as well as I can describe it. I left for a couple of hours to let everything cure and plan to return later to continue the process.
