Brief Description:  Prop governor installation

The challenge I faced when I left yesterday was the fact that the plans call for the bolt to be installed from front to rear, but the picture showed the problem pretty accurately. Due to the length of the bolt, the presence of the steel bracket, and the placement of the control arm, there is no way to insert the bolt.

A search of the forums revealed a number of approaches--from using a shorter bolt (tried that, still didn't work), to removing the control arm (but then trying to safety wire it back while working in the tight confines behind the engine), to the method I finally settled on...inserting the bolt from the aft side. Based on my reading from several DARs, this is acceptable provided the washers are installed per the plans, so after trying a couple of iterations with washers and bolt lengths, I finally settled on the one shown.

The only thing I'll probably change is adding one more thin washer under the bolt head in order to allow the bolt end to pass over the screws without rubbing--something I noticed when running the control in and out. That will have to wait for another session.
