Brief Description:  Fuel flow sensor installation

Taking a much needed baffle break, I worked on the installation of the fuel flow sensor today. The "red cube" can be installed in a number of different locations, but the one that makes the most sense to me is between the throttle body and fuel distribution point. In order to put the sensor there, it is necessary to route the fuel lines over/around the throttle body and up through the cylinder bank. This means navigating around the #1 cylinder exhaust--or at least finding a path that minimizes the potential interference.

Tom gave me the idea of making a bracket to attach the sensor and routing the line under the forward engine case, so after ordering two fuel lines from TS Flightlines, I started on the process.

The pictures give a rough idea of how it will all go together, but unfortunately the bracket as displayed doesn't get the sensor in quite the right position--thereby creating an unmanageable strain on one of the lines. I will drill out the rivets and fabricate a bracket that will drop the unit by about 1/2" to get it closer to the lower fuel line. Hopefully that will do the trick.
