Brief Description:  Baffles and air box, what else?

My hope today was to get the air box fitted and the retaining brackets finished. As the pictures show, I was able to accomplish that—and in fact, made good progress on the rest of the baffles. Should have all of it done after the next session and will then be ready to cut and fit the fabric. This has taken a lot longer than I would have imagined.

I had taken the air box home after yesterday’s session in order to reinforce the top where I had to re-drill some of the holes. After ensuring everything lined up, I riveted the brackets to the box, and then assembled it all to make sure everything fit. I would have been a little happier if it lined up perfectly, but based on the challenges I’ve had with it, I’ll take what I can.

The next step was to finish the forward portion of the baffles. These require a number of small clips and support brackets that have to be fabricated and drilled to the assembly. Aside from having to remake one bracket due to an operator drilling error, the process went pretty well. Good weekend at the hangar.
