Brief Description:  Odds and ends--3 small tasks that I've neglected

With the tank sealer curing, and a fair amount left over, I decided to borrow Ross' creeper and ProSeal the gaps around the gear legs. These are a bit awkward to access, and since I knew there would eventually be a fairing covering them, I didn't stress too much about perfection. Ok, I stressed a little...

The second task was to rivet four holes at the bottom of the fuselage just forward and aft of the wing attach points. For reasons that escape me, I waited to rivet these (some vague recollection of builder's manual instruction) and once the skins were on, there was no access for a bucking bar. None. I had purchased some CherryMax rivets awhile back, but couldn't figure out a good way to install them since the rivet assembly was too long for the hole due to the presence of a large piece of aluminum behind. I finally figured out that if I pryed the skin out gently and inserted a spacer, I had just enough access to rivet. The forward holes required a washer for spacing, but that job is done.

The final little task was to change out the flimsy vinyl tubing for a little more robust tubing in the aft fuselage. It just seemed that the Van's solution (as it often is) was a poor man's fix that wouldn't take much to improve upon. I extended the static line across the bulkhead and have ordered a T-fitting that will make this look a lot better. And with G3X touch coming, I feel better about the robustness (word?) of the static lines.

And speaking of odds and ends--I also ordered some more .032 aluminum to redo the left aft skirt. Finally, did I mention that I think we'll hang the engine next weekend?
