Brief Description: Nut plates and canopy rail work
I knew as I headed out to the hangar that this would actually be the last session for installing nut plates under the seat and baggage floors. I could hardly contain my enthusiasm.
After spending what seems like an eternity bent in half in the close confines of my project, I finally set the last nut plate. Of course it took another half hour to put all of the screws in, but once done, with the floors cleaned up a bit, I was at last able to say that job was finished. I just hope that I actually need to pull the floors up at some point...
Once the floors were in, I blind riveted the aft side walls in place. I cannot think of a single reason these would ever need to be removed.
Finally, I started looking at the canopy track and realized that in my haste to attach the support bracket that stabilizes the rear canopy slide, I drilled the hole in the wrong place. Not just by a little. The good news is that there was enough space for me to drill the hole in the correct place and not have edge distance worries. I now have an extra 1/4" hole in the aft bulkhead.
