Brief Description:  More fuel line work and rudder pedal installation

Back out to the hangar to continue with my brake line and rudder pedal installation, but wouldn’t you know it, I got distracted. Yesterday Ross asked if the left fuel vent line was going to cause interference where it curved around the longeron, and as I pondered that today, I realized it probably would. For reference on this topic, refer to previous entries. Suffice it to say that I remade the left fuel vent line. Any further comment would be redundant as I have thoroughly documented my experience with tubing bending in other posts. I’m really getting pretty good at it…

So, with a new fuel vent line…and the right side re-bent to match…I went back to my original task. There is a bracket (F-6118 for anyone scoring at home) that must be fabricated and installed to support the center section of the rudder pedal column, and this particular bracket requires a fair amount of cutting and drilling. After cutting some lightening holes, I clamped it into the fuselage and drilled it to the firewall bracket. Finally I finished it by adding two holes for snap bushings to allow the brake lines to run through.

The last hour or so was spent installing the rudder pedals and making the final adjustments on the F-6118 bracket. The rudder pedals are now installed permanently, and after a bit of cleaning and priming I will install the F-6118 bracket and move on to the final part of the brake lines.
