After taking December off to get some things done around the house, I jumped back into the project today. In order to avoid the inevitable head scratching and plans contemplation that comes with extended time off, I elected to work on a fairly "brainless" part of the project--that is the aft skins and the deburring and dimpling required before final riveting.
After I removed the skins I riveted the F-728 angle to the bracket (a task I had neglected long ago) and then drilled and riveted the bracket to the forward bulkhead. Then it was on to the long forgotten chore of removing the blue plastic from the rivet holes in order to deburr and dimple. After a couple of years the adhesive was pretty well set so I will be using some solvent to clean it up before final install, but after a couple of hours I was ready for the next step...dimpling.
