Brief Description:  Flap installation

More work on the flaps today. There are two channels that cover the flap motor and assembly and each of these has a number of brackets and reinforcing plates to handle the torque of the flap motor and assembly during operation.

Today was devoted to working on the sub-assemblies that will prepare the channels for insertion into the fuselage and final installation. The main channel angles down and forward from the F-704 bulkhead, actually extending slightly between the two seats. This channel and the backrest brace form the verical legs of the assembly and have two covers to keep the flap motor and actuator secure and out of the way.

After breaking the surface with a ScotchBrite pad, I cleaned and primed all of the parts, and then began to affix nutplates and some of the various brackets. This occupied the rest of the session, so I will finish that up and finish the actual installation in the next session or two.
