Brief Description:  Welding Table

Scott Lacy gave me a 27"x27"x.250" piece of steel to use for a welding table, so I purchased 30' of 2"x2"x.250" angle to use for legs and cross supports. I cut the legs to 38" with a friction saw that I borrowed from Scott, but the 23" cross supports required 45 degree cuts, which would require a cut along the flats. The friction saw was not up to the task, so Scott offered to let me use his plasma cutter, which made short work of the cutting process. I was planning to weld up some of the framework today, but my torch needs a bigger tip to work on .250" material. Scott offered to let me use his MIG welder, which I will probably do sometime, but I'm in no hurry for the welding table, so I'll finish this project up at another time.
