I decided that a band saw would be a very useful tool when cutting or shaping wood or metal. I had my eye on a Ryobi model at Home Depot, but several weeks of waiting and they were unable to receive delivery on this item. The next available model of this type of tool was almost double the price, but the salesperson offered to take $50 off the price since they were unable to get the other model in stock. I accepted and now the new owner of a fine 92.5” Rigid band saw. As you can see from the photos, it came disassembled and took me several hours to assemble. This thing is heavy duty (3/4HP motor, complete assembly weighs just under 200lbs), and with a 6” cut it should be able to handle any job I’ll need to tackle.
