After some further study on other builder’s rib jig designs, I decided to implement some of their features, which should make for an improved rib structure and quicker assembly. I’ve included wooden cams that will allow me to hold parts properly aligned until they are glued, then I can simply turn them to release the assembly, which will reduce the effort required to lift the assembly off the jig. I’ve also placed 3/4” spar spacers on the board in order to fit additional capstrip material on front and back of each spar. This is not called for in the original design, but many have done it to provide a larger surface area to mate the ribs with the spars. Seems like a good idea, so I’ll give it a try.
