I had just enough drop material to fabricate an 11” high, 6 section baffle that could be welded into place. The threaded tank flange was anodized, so in order to weld I had to remove the gold anodizing. I found this easy to do with Easy-Off oven cleaner… I just soaked the component in that chemical for 20 minutes or so and rinsed it off with cold water. Worked great.
