Brief Description:  Metal Parts Delivered

I'm not sure if I've mentioned Jody (Joe Loud) in the log, so I'll mention him now. I met Joe through the Matronics Pietenpol forum. He is a builder in Tulsa that has built and/or flown several different types of aircraft. He even started a Pietenpol some years ago, but had to abandon the project. He is ready to start again, so Jody and I got together one day and went to pay Jim Markle a visit (not sure if I mentioned him either, but I should sometime). Anyhow, long story short... Joe is a water jet operator, and he was considering cutting all of his metal parts on the water jet. We both thought that it sounded like a great idea, so he got to work on drawing up the parts.

Fast forward a few weeks to today... voila! Jody shows up with 2 pieces of cut steel. He hasn't completed all of the required parts, but he did complete many of them. Too many to list here, but there are motor mounts, cabane links, lift strut fittings, cable anchors, etc. A ton of work to do by hand... he says it took 2.5 hours on the water jet, and he was running it slow. All I need to do is punch them out, sand blast, paint and install... too easy.

Thanks a lot Jody! This stuff looks great, and I'm sure you have saved me a lot of time.
