Brief Description:  Wing Rib Jig

While I am waiting for wood to be delivered I figured I'd get busy on my wing rib jig. I wasn't sure of the best way to duplicate the drawing dimensions to the jig without destroying the original print. Theresa suggested that I use carbon paper and trace the drawing. Since I was using press board, tracing could be done accurately on the smooth surface. First, I measured my print to ensure the proper dimensions. I know that others have found that their prints have stretched or shrunk during processing or storage, but fortunately, my print was exactly to the proper dimension.

Once the drawing was transferred I was able to accurately place 1"x1" blocks where the capstrip would be placed. I only blocked one side of each piece, which will allow me to custom fit the backing pieces once I have the proper building material in place.
