Drilled nut plate attachment holes in splice plate. I did not do this in the optimum order. I had already dimpled the #8 screw holes. As a result inorder to get a tight fit on the nut plate and proper placement of the rivet holes, I attached the nut plates usine a cut-off #8 screw, attaching the a nut plate to the inside surface of the splice plate and then, using the nut plate as a guide, back drilled the holes using a 12" dirill bit and a 90 degree angle drill. Took more time but worked out ok.
