Brief Description: Tim tab, left and right elevator work
Trim tab: Fit piano hinge to trim tab and left elevator. Left elevator: Completed riveting tip and root ribs to skin. Complete except for riveting top skin to trim tab spar and hinge and mounting fiberglass tips. Will wait for final assembly before doing fiber glass work. Right elevator: Completed riveting reinforcement plates and ribs to spar. Back riveted all stiffeners to skin. Built the counter balance assembly on the spar before riveting top skin to spar. This made riveting the tip and counter balance ribs to the spar much more straight forward than I experienced following the instructions for the left elevator. The instructions call for riveting the top skin to spar and then riveting and then the assembled counter balance assembly to the spar. Riveted top skin to spar. Riveted bottom skin to spar using blind rivets throughout. Fit AEX wedge to trailing edge and drilled using the same techniques used for left elevator.
