Brief Description:  Glider moved to Airport - 0W3

On Thursday the16th I had to move the glider to the airport so that the DAR could inspect the aircraft the following day. I spent most of the day getting the tie downs in order, removing the screws for the wing tips and finishing up a few others odds and ends. Fortunately my wife Xin was able to help me put the wings on in the morning before it started raining.

On Sunday the 19th I bought some heavy duty tarps for the empenage and canopy to prevent water from getting into the battery compartment and fuselage. The tie down is just some 1.5" electrical conduit with 80 degree (roughly perpendicular holes) and 12" spikes used to hold the wings down using some ratcheting straps. I also dug some dirt up and put down an 18" x 12" x 3.5" block for the main wheel and tail wheel. Additionally I took a beach towel and added some grommets so that the canopy does not get scratched from the tarp. Lastly, I used some novus scratch remover #3, #2 and #1 and about 3 hours of elbow grease to get the canopy back to a water clear finish.
