Brief Description:  Back from Airventure

During the last several weeks prior to Airventure 2014 there was not enough time to post all of the last minute activities. Since returning and tending to other business I have time to resume progress on the glider once again. During Airventure I purchased a parachute from Softies. It weighs about 16 pounds and I had it packed inverted, so that it is thickest at the bottom. This changes the seating somewhat. It provides padding, but also has the effect of raising the seat back about 2 inches. Therefore I intend on redesigning the seat back using sheet metal and U channel to provide an even lower profile seat back in lieu of the wooden "ikea" looking one in an earlier post. I anticipate having the new seat back completed by next week. Additionally I need to remount the antenna because it came loose during the long haul to Oshkosh, WI. In the meantime I'll be working on the program letter and equipment list in preparation for the Airworthiness inspection. The airworthiness inspection will occur in 2 phases, the first as an unpowered glider with a required set of flight hours followed by a powered phase in which the airworthiness will permit self launch. This is primarily handled through the MIDO.
