final settled on a final attach bracket. just finishing up the details. this structure so far appears to be lighter than my original design, and plenty strong structurally. i could almost use this a step for entering the cockpit. form and fit is not going to be perfect as i was kind of working backwards from some previously drilled holes, but as another builder once told me "we're not building Swiss watches here". in any case, i'm finally happy with it. it's only taken about 9 times longer than i hoped.
