Brief Description:  finished starboard elev stiffeners & bending

finished bucking the starboard elevator stiffeners. i ended up bucking the last two rows at the folded trailing edge. without having two people to backrivet (one flexing the skin and one riveting), i couldn't get good 426 flush rivets backriveting them, so i bucked them. they came out nice but i did leave a small impressions from the flush set in two spots. after sanding, priming, and painting though, i don't think it will be noticeable. the photos show the elevator after the stiffeners were completed and the folded trailing edge after the final bend...

bent the trailing edge. i first built the homemade bending brake called out in the plans using 2x10's. After the second warped just as much as the first one, I built my 3rd and final one with 3/4" MDF. It stayed straight enough, but next time I would get some high quality dried lumber and use 2x6's mated on the 2" face as shown in the Orndorf videos. Having the lumber together on the wider face seemed to highlight as warpage of the lumber.
