Prepped the HS for final riveting today, and began some riveting on it as well. There are some hard to access spots to rivet along the HS-707 nose rib. I experienced some "lack of experience" growing pains today and had to drill out some rivets and clean up some ribs, Image 1 shows some scaring from the bucking bar. This was mainly caused by me riveting the structure by myself. Really need two people for this job. Luckily the marks were only surface marks and I was able to clean it up and re-prime. My technique now is to place some painters masking tape as shown in image 2. You can also see in image 2 the two forwardmost nose rib rivets that I gooned up and had to drill out and reset. They came out much better on the second attempt when I had Swami riveting while I bucked. Image 3 shows both HS just before riveting the nose ribs. The nose ribs are riveted first, and then forward spar, then rear spar, and then the end ribs. Should have this puppy closed up by the end of the week.
