Tonight I spent a few hours preparing the VS skeleton and skin for priming. The Vari-prime S615/616 calls for scuffing up the aluminum surface to give the primer something to adhere to, and then cleaning with MEK to remove all oils, greases, waxes, ink, and any other potentially corrosive substance. This entails using maroon scotchbrite pads and just plain 'ole elbow grease to roughen the surface. It takes a while to do the ribs, spars, and skin.
