first attempt at priming. mixed results, but progress is progress.
first, cleaned the spray gun since it had oil throughout. sprayed a 1/4 container denaturated alcohol through it and cleaned internal parts.
second, wiped all parts with denaturated alcohol to removed oils, grease, part # label adhesives, finger prints/oils, etc.
next, mixed variprime 615s and 616s 1:1 as advertised by manufacturer. loaded up spray gun and practiced on some scrap. results seemed ok so i hit the actual parts.
the gun doesn't seem to shoot very well unless i shake it side-to-side while spraying. don't think it should require that. also, the gun seems to surge at times, causing the primer to go extra thick and run in places.
overall, i was getting the hang of it. i'll get jere to check it out and tell me if i'm on the right track.
