Brief Description:  Paint Session #11

The fuselage was moved into the paint booth yesterday. The whole outflow end of the booth can be unlatched from one side and swung out to allow large components to be moved in and out easily.

The entire fuselage was washed with a foaming window cleaner, then wiped down again with a degreaser/wax remover, then wiped down with 70% Isopropyl alcohol to remove any last minute fingerprints and eliminate static.

Today, forty ounces of Eastwood's Catalyzed Direct-to Metal Epoxy primer, thinned 25% with reducer was mixed and loaded in the paint gun.

The fuselage was given a final wipe-down with a tack cloth, and two light coats of Primer were applied.

The rotisserie worked very well, allowing me to always be painting on a horizontal surface. The priming went very well, and I am very pleased with the results.

I had about eight ounces of primer left in the gun, so only 32-ounces was used.
