Brief Description: Pre-Inspection and Prep for Weight & Balance
Yesterday, I asked one of my neighbors who is an experienced homebuilder and an A&P, to perform an in-process inspection for me. The inspection panels, fairings, and cowling, were removed, and he spent an hour and fifteen minutes completing a very thorough inspection.
He found two things which were quickly corrected. The first was a minor leak at the bottom of the brake fluid reservoir that was quickly fixed with and additional ¼ turn of the fitting nut. The second was potentially more serious; he found a 9/16’ box wrench on one of the nuts that supports the intake manifold at the carburetor. Glad he found it; it was one of my good wrenches.
The plane has been reassembled in preparation for performing the weight and balance, hopefully tomorrow.
