Prep work for mounting the wheel pants started today. The parting lines of both rear halves was sanded flush with 60 grip sand paper and a small wooden block. The front joggle on the rear halves was marked to ¾” from the joggle edge then cut with a jig saw, then sanded with a long sanding board.
The mounting brackets were deburred.
The airplane was raised off the floor by suspending it from the floor joists above and a saw horse set under the airframe just ahead of the landing gear. The tail was raised and supported with an adjustable stand, leveling the plane, and leaving the wheels about 2-1/2” off the floor.
