Work continued on the cowling and its components today. The upper cowl initial spot putty filling was sanded, and the underside was prepared for adhering the backer plate in position. The backer plate was also prepared, epoxy applied, and it was clamped in position.
The remaining epoxy was filled with micro-balloons and applied to the edge of the access door to smooth its perimeter.
The spot putty that had been applied to the lower cowl earlier, was sanded and a second round applied. All the epoxy and spot putty will cure overnight before work continues.
