The spring tab was bent to provide clearance between the forward elevator push rod and the spring. The spring was attached to the tab, and the tab mounted to the bottom of the elevator reverser. The forward spring mount was attached to the other end of the spring, then stretched forward until the elevator reverser balanced at its neutral position. The forward spring mount holes were marked to the bottom fuselage skin, then match drilled to the skin and clecoed in place.
