A strip of aluminum was temporarily clamped to the outside of the cheek formers, and a 1/8” thick shim was clamped between the preformed attachment strips and the cheek formers. Transfer holes were drilled between the clamped attachment strips and the cheek formers, then updrilled to #30. The components were separated, the holes were deburred, then the attach strips were riveted to the cheek formers.
The remaining riveting of the aluminum cheeks will wait until the side skins are riveted to the fuselage frame.
