Brief Description:  Completion of the Top Deck Mounting

Work on the Deck skin resumed today. With my wife holding the aluminum tabs tight against the forward edge of the deck skin, and me supporting the upper firewall tabs with a piece of wood from below, I still had great difficulty drilling through the firewall tabs. The pressure required was much higher than I was comfortable with, so I defaulted to using the drill to slightly indent the firewall tabs.

While the side of the deck skin was tucked under the fuselage side skins, the deck skin was marked at the edge of the side skins on both sides. The deck skin and upper firewall were removed and the fastener holes punched in the upper firewall tabs with my Whitney punch. The sides of the deck skin were cut to their respective marks, the edges filed smooth, then the seven fastener holes were marked and punched with the Whitney punch.

The side flanges were mounted and updrilled to #30 through the side skin and clecoed in positioned.

The deck skin was remounted and the side fastener holes were transferred to the side flanges, then clecoed in position. Looks good.
