Brief Description: Aft Fuselage Cleanup for Final Assembly
Today I removed the aft fuselage bulkheads #4 and #5. They were cleaned up then primed with NAPA 7220 Self Etching Primer. I am not priming everything because 6061-T6 is naturally corrosion resistant, but these two bulkheads mount the tail wheel spring which is made of steel, so there is the opportunity for dissimilar metal corrosion.
The upper left longeron was countersunk at the skin rivet locations with a DIENQ dimple die.
The upper right longeron was removed, updrilled to #30, then countersunk with a DIENQ dimple die at the rivet locations.
The aft right fuselage skin was removed, the edges deburred, then all the rivet holes were dimpled with a DIENQ dimple die.
