Brief Description:  Left Fuel Tank

The left fuel tank completed a one week long wet test without losing a drop of premium gasoline. The fuel was removed and the process for mounting the tank was started.

The two inboard mounting brackets were deburred, cleaned, radiused, and mounted loosely in position.

The fuel tank was set in position and clamped down with a strap on the outboard end against the leading edge of the outboard skin.

The inboard end of the tank was adjusted so the edge of the tank skin was the same distance from the wing trailing edge as the outboard end, then strapped down.

The two inboard mounting brackets were tightened to the spar and match drilled to the tabs on the inboard tank tabs.

The tank was removed and the rear edges of the tank skin was slipped under the aft wing skins, strapped back into position, and the inboard brackets were bolted in place.

Paper dots were placed over every other hole on the front edge of the inboard aft wing skin to prevent me from transfer drilling holes into the tank in the wrong locations.
