Brief Description: Completion of the Right Fuel Tank Mounting Prepara
The lever operated dimpling tool table (see log entry for 8-13-2014) was modified slightly to allow dimpling the row of rivets immediately behind the back panel of the fuel tanks. All of the tank rivet holes were dimpled, the spar flanges were updrilled then countersunk, and the rivet holes on the inboard end of the wing leading edge were dimpled. All the dimpling was done with the DIE-NQ die set.
The tank was remounted and the rivet holes were reamed to #30. The tank and its mounting features are now complete, but will be tested again with 1-lb. of air pressure, followed by a wet test, fully loaded with gasoline.
