Component prep for assembly of the fuel tanks continued today. The tank skins were cleaned with acetone, the rivet areas were scrubbed with a three-inch green Scotch disc in a die grinder, then the rivet holes were dimpled with a DIENQ dimple die.
The tank back was given the same treatment except only the top and bottom row of rivet holes were dimpled.
The components were assembled in the saddles for a trial fit to make sure I hadn’t missed something.
