The updrilling, centerline marking, straightening, and adding wire conduit holes through all of the left wing ribs was completed today.
The leading edges of all the nose ribs were sanded to remove the small raised areas formed when the flange tangs are formed around the leading edges. If these are not removed, they will press against the leading edge skins, producing a small but unsightly bump on the wing leading edge.
The left wing rear spar was mounted to the ribs and the rivet holes for the rib to rear spar joints were updrilled.
An adjustable brace was temporarily fastened to the rear spar and adjusted to eliminate sag in the assembly until the wing skins are attached.
Locating supports for the rear spars were mounted to the wing stands to enable the rear spar to be locked in the correct position while completing the wing assembly.
