Brief Description:  Upsizing Spar holes

Spent parts of the last three days updrilling and reaming the holes through the right wing spar caps for the 3/16” rivets and bolts. The rivet holes were drilled through the assembly with a #10 drill.

I started out drilling the holes in the right spar with a couple of battery powered hand drills, but after the aging batteries slowed the process, I switched to an air powered drill that significantly sped up the process. I later switched again, to a corded electric drill to eliminate the air compressor noise.

After checking the fit of the NS bolts in several sizes of reamed holes, I chose a #12 (0.189”) reamer, confirming that the Assembly Instructions recommendation was correct, providing a slight interference fit.

After completing the upsizing, the spar assembly was marked with diagonal lines to aid in properly reassembling the components after cleanup. The right spar was then disassembled for deburring and cleanup.
