Brief Description:  Horizontal Stabilizer Tips

I started assembly of the right horizontal stabilizer fiberglass tip today. 3/32” holes were punched around the edge of the skin in alignment with the rib rivets. The elevator was blocked to its neutral position for alignment of the tip trailing edge.

The tip closer rib was positioned in the trailing edge of the tip and held in place with tape. The tip edges were cleaned up and flattened, then held in place with a strap that forced it forward into the leading edge of the H.S. skin. All of the holes were match-drilled into the tip.

The trailing edge of the tip was marked and cut to match the trailing edge of the elevator. The cut edge was then filled with epoxy/cotton flox, then clamped for curing overnight.
