Brief Description:  Flight Test #8-A

Flight test #8-A was completed on September 28.
The purpose of this flight was to measure the indicated airspeed vs. true airspeed from 60 to 170 mph.

The second purpose for this flight was to determine the effects of a third modification to the rudder trim wedge.

The airspeed calibration went well with two exceptions. First, at 60 mph I did not have enough time on the downwind leg of the triangle to get the speed stabilized as well as I wanted, so I plan to repeat speed this on another day.

Testing from 70 to 110 mph went well, allowing me to collect good solid data.

After completing the 110 mph triangular loop, turbulence was picking up, so the test was stopped to be continued another day.

Following Test flight #7, the rudder trim wedge height was cut down from six inches to four inches. This turns out to be the perfect size to center the ball.
